- Explore unmarked dirt roads in search of your favorite beach. Our coastline is gorgeous, with spectacular rock formations and lushly forested mountains meeting the sea. A beautiful and well paved road goes for miles along the coastline, providing spectacular scenery along the way.

- Spend a day exploring a real Tico town-San Isidro del General Perez Zeledon. Thursdays and Fridays are the best days because of the "feria" - open air food market, where farmers bring their locally grown produce, homemade cheeses, breads and baked goods. Practice your Spanish and try new and locally grown fruits and vegetables.

- Visit our local bamboo factory, where they can make almost anything from bamboo grown on their own property.

- Fish the Baru River for snook and other local fish with a local guide. Big ones have been caught and even bigger stories have been told.

- Or best of all, simply BE, and do absolutely nothing- relax, read, nap, unplug, unwind, disconnect.
